With a future filled with smartphones and mobile payment devices, US-based Aaron Melander and Erik Melander of Supr studio foresee that cash, coins, loyalty cards and receipts will be a thing of the past—all we’d need is cards.
To prepare for this future, they designed the slimmest wallet yet—for those who no longer need to fill their wallets with unnecessary things.
Called ‘Slim’, the super-thin, card-carrying wallet is made of elastic so that it can stretch and wrap around as many cards as you’d like to carry.
The duo teamed up with a Rhode Island-based 60-year old elastic manufacturer for the raw materials to create the 3mm-thick wallet.
According to the makers, “Slim will never stretch out or lose its ability to grip your cards.”
It will also be able to “breeze through” RFID scanners.
Slim comes in six colors: neon pink, black, navy, neon orange, neon yellow and white.
The company is currently seeking funding for its product on Kickstarter.
Do you think cards will takeover cash in the future?
